Well, another year, another host. Now I'm with fsckvps. They cost half as much as Slicehost and promise twice the power and RAM. They offered me a discount for being an open source developer. They also have had excellent customer service and technical support; we had some firewall issues with their OpenVZ setup, but they patiently resolved these. Overall, I'd say they're a bit of alright. So if you're in the market for a VPS host, they get my recommendation.

So the old gotgenes.com server died a few months ago. Since then, I've switched my hosting over to Slicehost. I was too lazy to keep backups of the old server, so I lost pretty much everything that was on it. Big mistake. Anyway, I'll try to revitalize the site, and this has given me an opportunity to do a make-over. For now, I've got some research papers to read.
